This is our beginner class. Learn sewing machine basics, how to use a needle & thread like a pro, and complete a project.

A Million Fabric Choices and Why It Matters
Learn how to achieve your project goals through fabric and pattern selection. We will use what we learn to complete a project.

Who's That In My Closet?
In this fast-paced course, you'll learn about body type and style to help choose clothes that bring you joy. This is a non-sewing class. Learn about color, cut, fit, and how to plan your wardrobe (and yes, how to use what's already in your closet!) to create the biggest impact on your daily needs. Even on a budget!

Spinning Basics
Spinning Basics is everything you need to know to get started spinning fiber. Did you know it also helps improve muscular strength, joint stability, and mental wellness?

Skills Learned: how to use a top whorl drop spindle, about fiber types, carding, attaching fiber/drafting, and finishing yarn, along with spinning wheel and loom introduction.

Learn to Crochet!
Beginning Crochet Class
Join our beginning crochet class and learn fundamental skills to complete your first project. Create a chain stitch, single crochet, and double crochet stitches along with how to read a pattern. No previous experience is required. The project is the student's choice and can become a dishcloth, placemat, table runner, or scarf.

Learn How to Create Broomstick Lace!
​Students in this class will learn the art of this historical crochet style called Broomstick Lace. This technique is believed to have started in the 19th century and is made by using a crochet hook and a "broomstick". No previous experience is required.

Striped Textile Purse
Don't miss out on our second class with the very talented Carol Sutherland! She is going to show you how to make this artesian textile bag accented with hand-made fabric feathers. This purse will add effortless style to any wardrobe. The class will be held at Vanora Studio on Tuesday, March 5th from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, so mark your calendars and prepare for a great time with friends while learning a new skill. Pleasant Hill Quilters Workshop
The students of the Pleasant Hill Quilters class went on an extraordinary journey Saturday, March 9th 2024 as instructors taught the Monkey Wrench quilt pattern, which has historical significance as part of the Secret Quilt Codes and the Underground Railroad. It was an exceptional opportunity to be transported back in time through stories and songs while being guided through the process of creating a student's very own quilter’s square. Stay tuned for future possible dates!
